Duke Chiropractic has been established in New York City since 1992. We specialize in (A.R.T.) Active
Release Techniques, physical injury rehabilitation, utilizing exercise prescription, physiotherapy, and
spinal flexion distraction, for disc herniations and numerous other ailments. Duke Chiropractic educates
the personal training community in the New York Metropolitan area; if you have a personal trainer, they've
most likely attended one of our lectures.
Often people find themselves having been to a chiropractic office, or a physical therapy office, or many
other physicians, before they ever come through our doors. What sets our office apart from all others is
our combination of numerous treatment modalities and techniques under one roof. The following is a list
of the various rehabilitative methods utilized by our office.
Active Release Technique:
A muscle lengthening technique used to alleviate scar tissue. The patient moves an extremity exposing
the injured muscle, which then enables the doctor to break up the existing scar tissue. This muscle
energy technique goes beyond the limits of conventional massage.
Spinal Manipulation:
This is a gentle manipulation of the spinal elements (vertebrae and joints). It helps restore a greater range
of motion, improve blood flow, and facilitate nutritional transport to help prevent joint degeneration.
Therapeutic Stretching:
This is a series of specialized techniques that take advantage of doctor and patient one-on-one interaction
in order to create gains in the flexibility of specific isolated muscle groups.
On-Site X-Ray:
Computerized radiography technology is the most up-to-date equipment available today. Automatic
developing gives us the ability to detect fractures (broken bones) immediately, so that a referral can
be made.
