TESTIMONIALS

Paula RadcliffeDr. Duke and his team have become a vital part of my support network during my trips to New York. I can relax and trust that he will get my body into tip top shape for the race and will be on hand to check things over afterwards too.

In 2009 I came to rely on him even more when he helped me win the New York half marathon after arriving in New York with a very tight hamstring. Then in November for the marathon, although time was against us and the race didn't go well for me it is a sure fact I would never have even made it to the start line without Dr Duke. Furthermore I really appreciated the time he took to follow up with me in the weeks afterwards to check on how I was doing and advise with recovery and rehab.

Ryan HallI have been very grateful for Dr. Duke's healing touch whenever my travels take me to New York. His work is cutting edge for both elite athletes trying to get to the top step of the podium and for those just trying to make it one step past the finish line.

Meb KeflezighiThe great part about participating in an event hosted by the New York Road Runners is that everything is first class. When it comes to chiropractors, the New York Road Runners have arranged for me to work with Dr. Duke and his team several times. Thanks to them, I always know and feel that I am in good hands before the big races in New York.

Joanna ChitkoAs a triathlete, there is nothing more frustrating than being sidelined while training for an Ironman, especially when time and a healthy body are crucial components to success. I developed IT Band issues after taking time off in between seasons and I could not run for more than four miles without severe pain. Before I came to Dr. Duke and Dr. Amico, I tried deep tissue massage, acupuncture, and PT but nothing was working. Dr. Duke Chiropractic not only focused on fixing the problem but took extra time to investigate the source and presented me with strategies and solutions to avoid reoccurring problems.  Within two weeks of my visit and being treated with active release, Graston, electric stim, and other techniques,  I was on my way to recovery.  The entire staff at Duke Chiropractic is friendly, caring, and very personable and always made and extra effort to make me feel comfortable. I am so grateful for the care I received from Dr. Duke and Dr. Amico.

Lesley HigginsThe summer of 2007, I had set my sights on competing at the Olympic Trials in 2008, but by the winter I was ready to shelve that aspiration due to nagging hip injuries that were forcing me to spend up to four days a week cross training. Finally, after six years of searching for adequate medical support in NYC that could understand and treat a serious runner, I was directed to Duke Chiropractic. Thanks to a team of three excellent doctors, I not only qualified for the Olympic Trials, I made it to the finals of the 3000m steeplechase. The doctors at Duke Chiropractic were an integral part of getting me to the starting line of a life experience that I will never forget.

Spencer CaseyAs a coach and former competitive athlete myself I know how extremely important it is to find a set of Doctors that understand exactly what we as athletes do.  Dr. Duke, Duggan and Amico work very closely with my athletes and myself in order to help them get back on the road as quickly as possible after an injury.  Their level of knowledge and experience is second to none and the successful results that I have experienced  in working with them speak for themselves.  Whether it's a chiropractic adjustment, ART (active release) or soft tissue manipulation using the Graston technique, I know that the Doctors at Duke Chiropractic are using an array of techniques at their disposal to help my athletes get back out there and performing at a very high level.   As a coach injuries are extremely frustrating to deal with, but knowing I have a team of excellent doctors to back me up and to take care of my athletes is a huge asset.

Katarina JansosikovaI was referred to Duke Chiropractors from NYRR shortly after finishing my first marathon (NYC 2008). Due to the labrum tear in my right hip, I could only run up to 60-65 miles a week and finish each run with an uncomfortable pain in the hip. After the marathon, my coach John Henwood and I were debating between arthroscopic surgery or more conservative, less invasive treatments. With a rehabilitation program of twice a week sessions with Dr. Duggan, I have been able to increase my mileage up to 90mi/week and run uninterruptedly - without any serious injuries since then. My hamstrings have released and the hip feels great. Duke Chiropractic made me confident that with the proper rehabilitation program, my body could take on that hard training and high mileage elite marathoners need. I just completed the Ottawa Marathon and I am looking forward to my next race.

Amy SteinWhile training for the 2010 NYC Marathon, I was plagued with hamstring, lower back and neck pain.  In August, I went to Dr. Duke in spasm and total discomfort.  With each susequent visit, I found noticeable relief and started running more comfortably than I had in 10 years.  By November, I ran  a pain-free 20 minute Marathon PR-a Boston Qualifier.  For sure, I could not have continued to train or run my target time without Dr. Duke's help. Having been to other Chiropractors, Duke Chiropractic is a very different experience.  You will be treated as a serious athlete whether your performance level is elite or recreational.  I have referred Other runners who have all experienced the same great results.

Kelly JaskeI arrived in New York for the 2009 Mini 10K, only to have a strain in my lower back flare up. New York Road Runners sent me to Duke Chiropractic, and what a stroke of luck. With ART and electro stim, Dr. Amico had me pain-free for the race.

Caroline BierbaumIn the first year that I began working with Dr. Duke, I had suffered tendinitis in the foot and Achilles, chronic hamstring pain, and three stress fractures. Dr. Duke and his team helped me address all of my problems and 11 months after my first visit, I am healthy, pain free, and qualified for the 2012 Olympic Trials, running a marathon PR Of 2:44:31. I am so grateful for the care I received at Duke Chiropractic and remain a loyal, happy customer.

Abbi Gleeson AntablinI had nagging hamstring pain for 18 months that prevented me from doing speed work and hard long runs...to be honest, even sitting and driving hurt! I had tried multiple chiropractors and therapists without any improvement. I could tell right away that Dr. Duke, Duggan and Amico were different. They never rush my visits and provide an array of treatments to attack injury, including ART, stem, ultra sound, and adjustments. After six weeks of regular visits, I could run without even thinking about my hamstring for the first time in a very long time. Finally able to push my training again, this fall I set a PR in the marathon and half-marathon.

Maggie Guiney, Team USA '09Dr Duke and his team have helped me tremendously with both sports maintenance and healing injuries. I was injured after qualifying for the US team at the USA Cross Country Championships. Fortunately, Dr Duke and his team were able to heal my injuries in time so that I could compete as part of Team USA at the North America Central America Caribbean Championship a month later.

Thomas LaffontAfter months of struggling with ITBS, I was close to giving up on my triathlon racing. I had tried everything, sports doctors, chiropractors, massage, acupuncture and yet my ITBS kept recurring. It wasn't until I started treatments with Duke Chiropractic that I finally began to see actual progress. Dr. Duke is unlike any chiropractor I've ever met, most of which want to spend only a little time with their patients before hooking them up to a stim machine. Dr. Duke takes time to figure out exactly what is causing the injury and works at great length using a variety of techniques (ART, Graston) to ensure the best treatment. No two sessions are the same and he makes use of all the tools that are at his disposal including heat, ice, stim, and ultra-sound. We developed a program that allowed me to start running again while getting treatments in order to minimize delays to my training schedule. I'm very happy to say that I just raced my first race over the weekend, pain free and in record time. I couldn't have done without all the help of Doctors Duke and Duggan as well as their friendly and professional staff.

Stephanie LenihanDuke Chiropractic not only provides excellent treatment to fix my mechanical problems but has helped to further improve my running through ART and other techniques. I enjoy every visit with Dr. Amico not only for the benefit of improving my running but for the friendly conversation, advice and energy I receive from him and the rest of the office. Every time I leave from a session I walk out feeling 10 times better than I did walking in. If one of the chiropractors isn't available you can rest assure that any of the others can and will do just as good of a job treating you. I greatly appreciate their time spent to help me and have and will continue to recommend Duke Chiropractor to others!
