Shin Splints
This condition is characterized by a marked pain occuring on either the inside or outside portion of the shin. It is frequently caused by running or other aerobic activity. If shin splints are
left untreated, they can eventually lead to stress fractures, a condition which requires more intensive medical care and rehabilitation.
Doctor's Treatment Plan
The treatment consists of reducing swelling with a combination
or ice and electric physiotherapies. This will be followed by stretching and exercises to rehabilitate the affected mucles
and eventually increase strength in order to prevent future injury. |
